Educational Choice Program
"...a tremendous resource for discovering the right career." - Connecticut Department of Higher Education
Between the ages of 15 and 21 people sort out their relationship between themselves to the world around them more rapidly than at any later time in life. You are expected to make educational decisions that will continue to influence your life for many years to come. The decisions you make now will have a profound influence on how well your life turns out, for better or worse. If you make good decisions, you can look forward to a successful life that is satisfying.
High school and college counselors are the main source of assistance outside your family. If you were to ask a randomly selected group of 100 college students to raise their hands if school career counseling had been a powerful force in determining their direction, you might get 1 or 2 raised hands. How then, can you move forward on deciding your future direction? What gift can your parents give you that will really make a difference?
The Rockport Institute Educational Choice Program has been designed to help you get your compass needle pointed in the right direction. There are many factors involved in making the best possible career and educational decisions. By far the most vital and important of them involve picking a career that is a close match with your natural talents and personality.
For more than twenty years, students have used our Pathfinder Career Testing Program to help sort out their future direction. This program is powerful and effective. Yet it can be improved in one important way. In order to make the best possible career decisions, you are, most likely, going to need some additional coaching spread out over time. The Educational Choice Program adds up to 5 follow-up sessions to the testing program, sessions you can use whenever you need them during your educational years.
For most young people, choosing a career direction is not something to be done
all at once; it is a process. First, you get your compass pointing in the right
basic direction. Then, over time, you refine that direction until it is pointing
directly toward your future career. The Educational Choice Program is there
throughout this process, helping you when you most need it. Some students use
these sessions shortly after going through test interpretation. Others spread
them out over time, even over several years, using them when they feel they
are necessary to help them through the decisions they are facing then. That
way the program
responds to your own individual situation. It is there when you need it to
guide you toward having a life you will be proud of.
Since most of our clients are spread all over the U.S., Canada and other countries, testing, interpretation and the following sessions are usually done by telephone, except when clients live near the Washington, D.C. area.
If your family wants to give you the best possible gift to help you toward an extraordinary future, this is what to ask for.
