THE ROCKPORT STORY

Nick Lore, though financially successful and a guiding force in his community, had trouble getting through his unfulfilling workdays. While seeking career guidance, he soon realized that conventional methods didn’t produce the hoped-for results. Most former clients he interviewed said they had been useful, but many had still not decided on a new career direction.

Mr. Lore founded Rockport Institute in 1981 and dedicated it to pioneering programs to effectively guide clients through the process of career decision-making. Rockport programs, available worldwide, are composed of clear-cut steps that help people choose a highly satisfying yet practical and achievable career. Some come to us with an extraordinary record of success; others have been in the wrong field, in a less than ideal job or perhaps have never even settled on a path. All have a desire for a fulfilling career—and life in common.

Rockport’s success is extraordinary: nearly 90% of clients who complete our Career Choice Program report fully realized personal goals. Our success has been featured on television, in prestigious publications nationwide including the Washington Post, Wall Street Journal, Los Angeles Times and Newsday, and many smaller newspapers and magazines. The knowledge and technology used to produce these exciting results are the heart of our programs.

We know that anyone can find and change to a career that is tailored to fit them using dedication, hard work and expert guidance. Rockport’s purpose is to use the highest level of service, excellence and integrity to help you gain a life you love Over the years we have realized that, by far, the main reason so many people feel they may be in the wrong career is because they are!

In a letter to Rockport founder Nicholas Lore, New Jersey Governor James E. McGreevey wrote:
"It is my pleasure to extend warm greetings and to thank you for helping countless individuals realize their talents as they develop their careers. Those who dedicate their time, efforts and skills to help others are among the most valued members of any community. As one of the most creative and influential voices in career development, your work has made a lasting change to the field and made it easier for people to find career they love. People whose work fits their talents and personalities have an extraordinary advantage in the workplace. Your contribution to understanding and testing human abilities is an outstanding achievement."
